These terms apply to your use of www.simonalexander.com.au (the site) and to anything you order from us. Simon Alexander Jewellers is an Adelaide manufacturing jeweller at Level 1, 14 King William Street, Adelaide SA 5000. By using the site you agree to these terms.

1. Ordering and pricing

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Because most of our work is made to order, prices shown online are a guide for a stated specification; the price for your piece is the one we quote you in writing. Quotes are valid for 30 days, as diamond and metal prices move.

Where a piece is made to order, we confirm the design with you — usually sketches or renders — before anything is made. Your written approval of the design and the quote forms our agreement for that piece.

An order placed online is an offer to purchase. We accept it when we confirm your order or begin making your piece. If something is priced or described incorrectly, or a stone is no longer available, we'll contact you and offer you the choice of proceeding at the corrected price, choosing an alternative, or a full refund.

2. Deposits and payment

Commissioned pieces normally require a deposit before work begins, with the balance payable before collection or delivery. Because a commissioned piece is made to your specification, deposits on commissions are non-refundable once design work or making has begun. We'll always tell you clearly, in writing, what your deposit covers before you pay it.

3. Diamonds, gemstones and certification

Natural diamonds are supplied with GIA certification, lab-grown diamonds with IGI certification, and our wedding bands carry a Simon Alexander certificate. Where a piece contains a certified stone, the certificate records that stone's characteristics.

Gemstones are natural materials and vary. Photographs, renders and screen colours are a guide, not an exact match — opals, coloured stones and metal finishes in particular can look different in person and under different lighting. Carat weights, dimensions and finger sizes are given to normal jewellery tolerances.

4. Making times

Made-to-order pieces typically take four to six weeks, depending on the design and stone availability. Any timeframe we give is an estimate made in good faith. If something is going to take longer, we'll tell you as soon as we know.

5. Care, resizing and repairs

Your first resize is complimentary. Fine jewellery needs periodic care; wear, knocks, chemicals, sport and daily use can loosen settings or damage a piece, and damage of that kind isn't a fault. We're happy to inspect, clean and quote on any repair.

6. Returns and your consumer rights

Our returns position is set out in our Refund Policy. In short: because each piece is made individually to order, we don't offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, and you approve the design before anything is made. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the guarantees, rights and remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.

7. Using the site

The content of this site — text, photographs, renders, designs and the Simon Alexander name and marks — belongs to us or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You're welcome to view, share and print pages for your own personal use. Please don't copy, republish or use our images or design work commercially without our written permission.

We take care to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. Where we're permitted to limit our liability, our liability to you is limited to resupplying the goods or services, or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

The site may link to other websites. Those sites aren't ours and we're not responsible for their content.

8. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here at the time of your order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, and the courts of South Australia have jurisdiction.
