Because colour is the whole point of the stone, we choose it with you under proper light, side by side with others, before a line is drawn.
Natural fancy yellow or lab-grown fancy yellow
Natural yellow diamonds are graded for the strength of their colour — fancy light, fancy, fancy intense, fancy vivid — and the price climbs steeply with it. A natural fancy yellow of a carat or more in a well-cut oval, radiant or cushion is a serious stone, and the natural yellow rings in our collection sit in the range of about $16,000 to $20,000. Setting a yellow diamond
Yellow gold deepens a yellow diamond; white gold or platinum claws make the colour look cooler and the contrast sharper, which is why many yellow stones are set in a yellow gold basket under a white band, or with white diamonds at the shoulders to frame the colour. Radiant and cushion cuts hold colour best; ovals lengthen the finger and read larger. Simon draws the ring so you see the stone in its setting, from several angles, before anything is made.
What it costs and how long it takes
The diamond is the largest part of the price, and with yellow stones the colour grade matters more than the carat. Tell us the number you are comfortable with and we will show you what it makes, natural or lab-grown. Allow four to six weeks from the day you approve the design. Are lab-grown yellow diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. A lab-grown yellow diamond is crystallised carbon with the same structure, hardness and fire as a mined diamond; the colour comes from the same trace nitrogen. It is graded by IGI on the same colour scale as a natural fancy yellow, and the report records its origin.
What colour grade should I look for?
Fancy intense and fancy vivid are the grades where the yellow is unmistakable in daylight. Fancy light and fancy yellow are softer and suit people who want a warm stone rather than a bold one. Colour is judged face-up, so we show you stones on the hand under proper light rather than on a screen.

Sketches and 3D renders so you see your ring before anything is made. You approve the design first — nothing is made until you're sure.

You approve, we make it
A 50% deposit confirms your order and begins the making. The balance is settled when your ring is ready — about four to six weeks.
Custom quotes — given in our boutique or online — hold for 14 days. As each bespoke piece is made to order in your chosen gold or platinum, the final price is confirmed when you place your order, and we'll always flag any significant movement in metal prices first. Ready-made pieces are sold at the price shown.
